Built from
Lived Experience.
BlackBuddy didn't start as a startup idea. It started from a Black Mother who fears for her son's life and the lives of other Black People. "I want peace of mind as Black People navigate through remote or rural areas, walk through campuses, and down unfamiliar streets."
The Origin
The question that started everything.
It started with a simple question: why is there no vetted network of people who look like us that are willing to show up and protect and support us during an emergency?
That question led to another, and another. What do we do if we are in a remote area and our family and friends can't come and protect us? We need another network of trusted allies, so we don't end up being another statistic. We need a community of allies beyond friends and family to feel safe, whether they act as watchdogs to monitor our safety or become "on-site" allies.
BlackBuddy is the answer we built because no one else was building it.
Our Mission
To make Black people safer — not by asking the world to change overnight, but by giving our community the tools to protect each other right now.
Community first
Every decision we make is filtered through one question: does this make Black people safer? Not more profitable. Not more scalable. Safer.
Radical trust
We built a vetting system because trust is not given — it's earned. Every member of the network has been verified. That's not a feature. That's the foundation.
No performative allyship
We don't have a diversity page. We don't need one. This was built by Black people, for Black people. That's not a marketing angle — it's the entire point.
Privacy as protection
For Black people, data privacy isn't abstract. It's survival. We collect only what's needed, store nothing beyond active safety use, and will never sell your information.
Roadmap
What's the Plan?
The decision - Trademark Application
A mother tired of hearing about the latest Black Child missing or deemed an "accidental death" on a hiking, fishing, or boating trip. This website was put together immediately after July 4th, 2026.
Social Media Awareness
Garner awareness/sign-ups and reach out to clubs/groups/organizations.

The Team
Built for people who need it.
BlackBuddy.app is seeking feedback from Black students, parents, engineers, community organizers, and travelers who have been in the situations this app is designed for. We need your input to make this app better. "We don't have a diversity statement because it's irrelevant."
Founder
Founder & CEO
